WHAT IS WRITING WITHOUT PERIODS ALL ABOUT?
These three quotes say it best:
“Creativity is our most powerful tool to shape the world we live in.” ~ Isra Hirsi
“We don’t stop playing because we grow old. We grow old because we stop playing.” ~ George Bernard Shaw
“Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.” ~ Mary Lou Cook

I’m Jennifer Archer (aka “Jenny”) — a multi-published writer of fiction & non-fiction, a former small business owner, a wife, mom of two grown sons, soon-to-be grandmother, mother-in-law, daughter, sister, friend. As a woman and as a writer, I’ve acquired some wisdom over the years but still have much to learn and accomplish.
I started this blog for two reasons:
- The world is an uncertain and often scary place right now. I want to shape it in some small way, make it closer to the beautiful, inclusive, compassionate place I envision.
- I may have a few wrinkles and gray hair but I don’t want to grow old in spirit; I want to keep playing until the day I die.
I believe that practicing creativity is the way to do both of these things and the answer to questions I’ve been asking myself more and more lately: “How can I face the sometimes unsettling changes taking place around and within me while maintaining a sense of peace, joy, curiosity, and hope for the future?”
I don’t want to approach creativity as I have in the past. I want to take some risks — color outside the lines, write without periods.
If this resonates with you, I hope you’ll join me in my quest to face change with eyes wide open. Let’s experiment. Let’s break the rules by taking creative risks. Let’s play, make mistakes, and have fun. Let’s create together!
